A 60-hour childbirth preparation workshop was held at Gerash University of Medical Sciences.
According to the Webda Gerash , a 60-hour training workshop on preparation for childbirth was held at Gerash University of Medical Sciences over two weeks, with the participation of midwives working in various departments of Gerash University and other neighboring cities, and taught by Dr. Zahra Yazdan Panahi, assistant professor and faculty member of Shiraz University, and Aazam Jokar, faculty member of Shiraz University.
In this 60-hour workshop, participants will be introduced to topics such as the principles of mother-and-baby-friendly hospitals, physiological childbirth without intervention, pain relief methods, massage and its application, breathing techniques, reflexology, aromatherapy, and other non-pharmacological methods, in theory and practice.
Dr. Saeed Mehrvari, Deputy of Health at the University, attended one of the sessions of the workshop and emphasized the key role of midwives in making the birth experience enjoyable, promoting natural childbirth, and encouraging pregnant mothers to make informed choices about their Childbirth method.
Dr. Mehruri spoke about the effective role of midwives in implementing youth programs for the population and emphasized the importance of holding specialized training courses to empower midwives.
At the end of the course, participants took a theoretical and practical exam and were awarded a 60-hour course certificate.
Individuals trained in this workshop can now hold 8 sessions of childbirth preparation classes for pregnant mothers to empower them to perform natural childbirth. They can also accompany mothers during the childbirth process as midwives after signing contracts with midwifery consultation centers.
This workshop was organized by the Deputy Director of Health of the Gerash University of Medical Sciences.
